Come discover the world of sailing with Elm Fork Sailing Academy. We are an American Sailing affiliated facility located at Cottonwood Creek Marina on the northeast side of Lewisville Lake in the city of Little Elm, TX. We take our name from the Elm Fork of the Trinity River – the waters of which create the beautiful Lewisville Lake on the north side of the DFW metroplex. 

We currently offer the ASA 101 – Keelboat Sailing 1 Certification Course utilizing the versatile Colgate 26 – a purpose built sailboat designed for teaching basic and intermediate sailing. The Colgate 26 is a phenomenal platform for learning the fundamentals of keelboat sailing while preparing students for the next steps in their sailing education aboard larger keelboats.

Our objective is simple – we want to provide quality sailing instruction that turns out competent and confident sailors with the skills necessary to skipper a small keelboat in light to moderate conditions – Our program of instruction equips new sailors to continue consolidating their newly acquired skill set with time on the water – the essential element to honing the fundamentals of keelboat sailing as they prepare to move forward with their sailing education.

We offer private and semi-private lessons with scheduling flexibility to suit your needs.

We also offer Discover Sailing sessions allowing you, and up to three additional people you would like to include, the opportunity to sample this amazing sport with some hands-on experience.
